Happy Chinese New Year

Fun Facts:

• This year is the year of Ox.
• The red colour used extentensively during the festival because the beginning of CNY was started with the fight againts the Nian (a beast - evil spirit and bad fortune), the Nian was afraid of red colour and loud noises.
• The other name for the celebration are Spring Festival and Lunar New Year.
• Spring Festival because it officially indicates spring has started for the year.
• Lunar new year because the chinese calendar is base on the moon circle not the sun as the georgian calendar we used.
• It is not a religious festival so everyone no matter who you are, feel free to celebrate and enjoy the day and be part of these cultural experience.
